Democrat for Texas State Senate

Dear Friends,

It has been an honor to be your candidate for State Senate District 16.

It is because of YOUR efforts that we accomplished so much as a team. WE received over 89,000 votes, still outperformed many better funded campaigns, and did similarly to Joe Jaworski's Texas State Senate race, which was very well supported and funded. But, we had several factors against us. For instance, we were outspent 10 to 1, I had never run for political office, and we had less than 9 months to organize a campaign against an 18 year legislator.

I have been touched and blessed to have had the opportunity to gain so many friends and supporters. During this campaign, I was continually humbled by the sacrifices that you made in your commitment to improving the lives of the people in our community and state. One of the many examples is my good friend Sue, a retired teacher, donated more of her retirement check than I think she could afford and volunteered for anything and everything to support the campaign.

Even though it seems to fall short of expressing the depth of my gratitude, I can only say “thank you.”
